CELEBRATING
ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Slush has grown from a single gathering in Helsinki to a series of events organized all around the world. Our crown-jewel event is our annual Slush event, but we also host smaller get-togethers around the globe.
It all started in 2008 in Helsinki with a one-day affair made up of around 250 people. Pretty intimate, if you ask us. While the size of our event has grown by leaps and bounds, our goal has stayed the same: we focus on how best to serve startup ecosystems across the world.
As a company, we try to serve startups, founders, and investors through our main annual Slush event as well as our products: startup media Soaked by Slush, online community Node by Slush, and our smaller global events Slush’D.

sTARTUp Day 2024 is a three-day business festival with a marvelous stage program, effective matchmaking, hands-on seminars, a demo area full of innovation, and vibrant side events. The inspirational-educational program consisted of various topics – from mental health to space tech, founder stories to aviation, and deeptech to the creative economy.
We claim to be the most startup-minded business festival, but what does that mean? In short, it’s a way of thinking. You don’t need to be a startup to have a startup mindset! It’s about focusing on growth, working smart, not hard, having a bias towards action, and perhaps most importantly, being adaptable in situations of uncertainty. Read more here.
In 2023, sTARTUp Day took place for the seventh time, bringing together over 150 world-class speakers, 264 startups, 230 investors, and 3200 attendees from 45 different countries all over the world. It’s a community-organized festival, organized by the city of Tartu, the University of Tartu, Tartu Science Park, Contriber, Tartu Biotechnology Park, Tartu Business Advisory Services, Tartu Centre for Creative Industries, Fractory, and Swedbank.
The international activities of sTARTUp Day 2024 introducing Tartu and Estonia as attractive tourism destinations for business and networking are supported by the European Regional Development Fund (30 000 euros for 1 event).
We expect the participants of sTARTUp Day 2024 to feel inspired and have a better knowledge of building a business, and more companies to be started both in Tartu and in Estonia as a whole. In addition to that, sTARTUp Day 2024 will likely increase the number of tourists and brand Tartu as one of the most entrepreneurial cities in the region.
sTARTUp Day is bringing together startup-minded people to celebrate entrepreneurship in the smart city of Tartu.

Iceland Innovation Week, a festival of cutting-edge technology, creativity, and collaboration is thrilled to announce its dates for the upcoming 2024 edition. From May 13 to May 17, 2024, startup founders, investors, industry leaders, and entrepreneurs from around the world will gather in Reykjavík to celebrate innovation in all forms.
Iceland Innovation Week is an annual event that serves as a platform to share knowledge and increase visibility of the innovation sector in Iceland and has established itself as a highlight in the Nordic tech conference ecosystem since being founded in 2020. The main program consists of a flagship climate summit, Ok bye, that combines artistic performances with climate keynotes, and a Takeover event which is a day of panel discussions and fireside chats on innovation. The many side events throughout the week focus on founder stories, pitch events, workshops, happy hours and networking.
“Iceland Innovation Week has become a staple event for entrepreneurs and investors,” said Melkorka Magnúsdóttir, the festival’s co-founder and CEO. “We are thrilled to announce the dates for the 2024 edition and are planning on having an extraordinary lineup of speakers, performers, and partners to join us in Reykjavík.”
The festival is distributed, taking place throughout Reykjavík in offices, innovation centers, restaurants, swimming pools, buses and many other venues. Attendees can look forward to immersive workshops, thought-provoking keynote presentations by industry leaders, interactive panel discussions, engaging pitch events, and exciting networking opportunities. Every year, the festival chooses five themes that cover a broad spectrum of innovation topics, including technology, sustainability, wellness, funding and much more.
