Stavanger-based startup InfoTiles has secured investment for the development of its real-time analytics software, aimed at addressing and preventing global water-related challenges. The undisclosed amount of investment, led by Dutch venture capital firm 4impact Capital, along with participation from Norwegian investors ProVenture and industrial-utility company Lyse, will enable InfoTiles to enhance its technology and expand its market presence.

InfoTiles offers a digital analytics platform that provides actionable insights covering the entire water value chain, allowing for real-time monitoring of wastewater treatment and natural waterways. By embracing InfoTiles’ digital water solutions, the company asserts that water management can be optimized, resource allocation can be improved, and the impacts of water-related crises can be mitigated.

The importance of addressing the global water crisis cannot be overstated, as access to clean water becomes an increasingly pressing issue. Factors such as overconsumption, water pollution, inadequate infrastructure, and the effects of climate change contribute to the growing challenges. Governments and organizations worldwide are recognizing the need for concerted efforts to overcome these obstacles, with a focus on both infrastructure improvements and leveraging new technologies. Timely data collection and analysis play a crucial role in taking proactive measures.

According to UN Water Commission data shared by InfoTiles, global demand for clean water is projected to rise by up to 40% by 2030. Disturbingly, in Europe, a quarter of drinking water is lost, and some countries experience losses of over 40% before the water reaches consumers. Addressing this issue may seem straightforward, but it requires substantial investment. InfoTiles aims to tackle this by providing a digital water solution that promises significant benefits. By utilizing their platform, service providers can enhance data quality by 30-50%, achieve substantial OPEX savings of 25-40% in wastewater treatment, and significantly reduce breakdowns and downtime by 70% and 40%, respectively.

“The globe is facing a tremendous water crisis that requires immediate attention. At InfoTiles, we are committed to put our efforts in being a positive impact and get the most out of the world’s most precious resource. By getting 4impact capital onboard we can accelerate our journey on getting the real value of water. This funding round is a strong push for the team and to waterpreneurs out there. ” says Johnny Alexander Gunneng, CEO of InfoTiles.

“InfoTiles’ advanced analytics and insights are in a class of their own. We have been thoroughly impressed by the team’s deep knowledge in hydrology and analytics and how they drive drinking water savings and prevent wastewater problems. We are very excited to partner with InfoTiles as they revolutionize the water management industry, and make cities and utilities more effective and sustainable by giving them insights leading to better actions and more effective water use.” states Ali Najafbagy, Founding & Managing Partner of 4impact capital.

“At ProVenture, we are thrilled to welcome 4impact into our collaborative partnership with InfoTiles, a trailblazer in the digital water industry. This strategic alliance, rooted in our mutual commitment to sustainability and technological innovation, serves as a significant endorsement of InfoTiles’ important work in harnessing digital solutions for water management,” says Borgar Ljosland, Senior Partner at ProVenture. “Together with Lyse Vekst, our continued investment in InfoTiles encapsulates our shared vision for a sustainable future, where digital water plays a pivotal role. This partnership illustrates how dedicated we are to promoting a world where technology and sustainability coexist to foster the conservation of our most precious resource – water.”
