Swedish climate impact tool Klimato raises 6.5 million crowns

Klimto

Swedish startup Klimato, which is developing a tool for restaurants to keep track of their climate impact, has raised 6.5 million Swedish crowns from Almi and private investors for product development and expansion.

Klimato has developed a user-friendly and cost-effective tool that makes it possible for restaurants to calculate, monitor and communicate their climate impact.

Food supply creates about 25% of the world’s total greenhouse gas emissions, with a large part of this coming from the restaurant industry, even during the pandemic, as more and more people buy ready-made food at home.

The tool generates monthly and annual climate reports that restaurants can use to monitor KPIs, set their own climate goals, report on sustainability and present to customers, employees and other stakeholders.

Klimato has initially chosen to address restaurants, cafés, hotels and municipalities in the Nordic market. Customers include Sodexo, Bastard Burgers, Oh Poké and Debaser.
