Summer 2019 is said to be hot as the most influential people in tech will gather in Helsinki for three major investor & startup events held on 3-6 of June.
Arctic15 in collaboration with Finnish Business Angels Network (FiBAN) and NewCo Helsinki will hold a week-full of events, focusing on connecting startup entrepreneurs with investors, business influencers and the general public. More than 600 international investors are expected to visit Helsinki during the week, and over 300 local startups will get their deals up and forward.
Networking Under The Midnight Sun
The week will kick off with EBAN Helsinki 2019, the annual congress of European Business Angels Network (EBAN). It is the biggest event in Europe for business angels, and the best place to connect with fellow investors. Helsinki is set to provide international business angels with the best possible networking experience under the midnight sun, and spice it up with professional training sessions on the hottest topics about angel investing. The Congress experience on the 3-4 June will be followed by Arctic15, where the investors can meet with the best startups the Arctic region has to offer.
Arctic15 is scheduled for June 5-6 and will take place in Cable Factory turned “culture factory” in the industrial harbour area of Ruoholahti. Arctic15 will be focused on networking and meetings between international startups, investors and business influencers. 15 tracks of the event tackle various industries, technologies and topics relevant to the Nordic & Baltic startup ecosystem, such as Impact, SaaS, Fintech, Health, AI, Space and beyond. The conference will also feature the most promising Nordic and Baltic early stage startups in a Funding Program organized in collaboration with FiBAN. The previous edition of Arctic15’s Funding Program worked out well for Screenful who walked away with 115,000 from a syndicate of 14 angel investors.
Finally, Helsinki Startup Day by NewCo Helsinki will gather local ecosystem players for one dynamic day to showcase the state of Finnish innovation to the public.
“As a local, I am happy to see Helsinki growing its role in the global startup ecosystem and even more international investors and startups coming to Helsinki for investment opportunities. There is great value in collaborating with strong ecosystem players FiBAN and Newco Helsinki to connect Finnish startup ecosystem in a holistic way and inspire action between all its players,” commented Taru Ryske, Arctic15 Director.
