Done Deal: 115k For The Win

Last week Helsinki Cable Factory was turned upside down as it played host to the 7th edition of Arctic15, the most effective matchmaking startup conference in the Nordics. Behind the scene, we were very busy arranging the event to make it another fabulous edition, but it would never be a great success without a great deal!

While the Deal Room was packed with meetings, the real-time deal-making magic was taking place at the OP Stage on the second day of Arctic15. Arctic15 Funding Program put together with Nordic Angel Program culminated with the final deal – a result of 3 months long negotiations where business angels carefully evaluated early stage startups based on 1-on-1 coaching.

We witnessed a deal done with Helsinki-based Screenful, project management tool which provides project management teams visual dashboards and automated team status reports. Screenful secured €115k in funding from a syndicate of 14 business angels.

Screenful helps teams visualize project development statuses through real-time visual dashboards displayed on large screens on office floors. This helps teams avoid pitfalls common to agile development projects by automatically tracking and communicating progress to all project stakeholders.

”We decided to participate to Arctic15 Funding Program based on the fact that it was not a traditional pitching competition. We wanted to find a great group of investors that can support our goals. For this the program was perfect, and we achieved what we aimed to do”, states Screenful co-founder, Sami Linnanvuo.

Arctic15 Funding Program is the new program for early-stage startups and investors from the Nordics and Baltics created to enhance cross-border deals among existing and potential startup investors. The program is organized in collaboration with FiBAN and the Nordic Angel Program.

The goal of the Funding Program is to build stronger relationships and a better understanding between startups and investors by connecting them prior the event. At the conference, the 15 selected startups pitched to all Arctic15 investors thus getting an opportunity to make a deal right on the spot.
