Digmi, a Småland-based SaaS company revolutionizing the beauty industry for hairdressers, recently completed an oversubscribed funding round at €0,5 million with a valuation of €6,7 million (SEK 75 million). The funding was secured from both existing and new investors who have shown great confidence in the company’s national and international expansion. Digmi offers a range of services, including digital plates and unique software, to streamline operations for hairdressers, allowing them to focus on their craft. With the newly raised capital, Digmi plans to fuel its continued strong growth, further develop its services, and expand its presence in new markets.

Digmi is a technology company focused on enhancing the salon experience for both hairdressers and customers. Their flagship product is a reading tablet that offers access to a wide range of magazines, booking and payment services, extra treatments, and exclusive offers, all from the comfort of the hairdresser’s chair. Beyond providing entertainment and convenience, Digmi’s tablets aim to simplify salon operations, reduce paper usage, and create a more sustainable and efficient environment. The tablets are designed to be user-friendly, with a simple setup process that requires only a Wi-Fi connection to get started. Overall, Digmi aims to set a new standard for how salons can leverage technology to improve customer service and streamline operations.

In 2021, Tobias Lindberg, a multi-entrepreneur, conceived the idea for Digmi, a tech company aimed at revolutionizing the beauty industry, while waiting for a haircut during the onset of the pandemic. Lindberg’s vision was to simplify the lives of hairdressers and enhance the salon experience for customers.

“Hairdressers love to cut, color and create, and care about their customers. Generally speaking, they don’t want to deal with admin and technology,” he stated.

Three years post-launch, Digmi has secured agreements with leading beauty brands and amassed a significant customer base in Sweden and Norway, exceeding initial expectations. Lindberg reflected,

“What happened last year we could never have dreamed of when we started.”

Digmi is set to launch Digmi 2.0, which will allow customers to not only read magazines but also book appointments, purchase products, and make payments directly from the hairdresser’s chair, potentially rendering traditional tills obsolete. Joel, a representative from Digmi, highlighted the positive reception during pilot projects in 2023, noting that participants saw great value and results from the service.

The company offers a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution, catering to independent hairdressers and large salon chains. This includes digital plates and unique software, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability. Joel further mentioned that customers pay a fraction of their previous costs for services that always work, providing an enhanced experience for salon customers.

Recently, Digmi completed an oversubscribed capital round at a valuation of €6.7 million (SEK 75 million), indicating strong investor confidence in its national and international expansion plans. Lindberg expressed gratitude for the support, stating that the capital will be used for continued growth and development.

“We are happy that our existing as well as new investors have great confidence in the company and its national as well as international expansion,” concludes Tobias, who says that newly added capital should be used for continued strong growth.
