Melhus-based edtech Daxap has raised €345.9K (4.05M NOK) in funding, exceeding its goal by €85.4K (1M NOK). The investment was led by Limex Ventures from the U.S., with additional support from Lectus AS in Norway and a group of angel investors from North America. Daxap focuses on the IT and SaaS sectors, aiming to simplify communication and bridge language and cultural gaps, particularly in daycare and early education. The funding will fuel Daxap’s international expansion plans, especially for its multilingual communication platform, Kiddy, which is already used by thousands of users in several countries.

Founded in 2021 by Kubilay Kartal and Emirhan Sözan, who moved from Turkey to Norway in 2018, Daxap aims to simplify communication and break down language and cultural barriers, especially concerning young children and inclusion in daycare. The company has experienced significant growth with its IT services and SaaS products in the public and private sectors, providing career opportunities for individuals with immigrant backgrounds.

“I am incredibly proud of how far we have come since our inception in 2021,” says founder and CEO, Kubilay Kartal. “We had a dream to simplify communication and break down language and cultural barriers, and now we have the opportunity to do this on an even larger scale. We greatly appreciate the investors who have seen our vision and believe that we can improve society with unique and safe digital solutions.”

The capital raise was led by Limex Ventures from the U.S., with support from Lectus AS in Norway and a group of North American-based angel investors. The focus for 2024 is global expansion of the communication platform Kiddy, which is already used by over 3,000 users in Norway, the Netherlands, Germany, and the United Arab Emirates. Kiddy offers automatic translation in 19 languages, making it a global solution.

“We look forward to collaborating closely with our new shareholders,” says chairman of the board Anders Krohn, who himself invested in Daxap through the company Lemmus Lemmus LLC in 2022. “Daxap has two bottom lines: financial success and social impact. On both fronts, we can show positive results, and the investors have already created significant value for us.”

Daxap has also collaborated with research communities, with SINTEF’s study in 2023 showing that Kiddy contributes to better communication, relations, and understanding between employees and parents. Additionally, Daxap has obtained ISO 27001 information security certification, emphasizing its focus on security in its SaaS products and IT solutions for customers.
