Sweden’s Instabox expands to Holland through Red je Pakketje acquisition

Swedish startup Instabox said it has acquired Red je Pakketje, Dutch market leader in same-day deliveries, and said it plans to install around 3,000 lockers in the Netherlands during the next two years,

The deal follows Instabox’s  75 million euro B round earlier this year. The firm said it was growing at over 300%  year on year.

The 2015-founded Instabox said the deal gives it a complete and frictionless last-mile delivery solution, with home delivery, parcel locker delivery, label-free returns and flexibility to change destination during the delivery.

Red je Pakketje has more than doubled in size each year for five consecutive years and is the Dutch market leader in same-day deliveries.

“When we researched the Dutch market we quickly saw that Red je Pakketje has done an amazing job in creating a premium, same-day shipping service that consumers love. ”

Alexis Priftis, CEO and founder of Instabox

The acquisition was closed in mid-April. The financial details are not disclosed. The founders will stay with the new company, and will reinvest parts of their proceeds into Instabox.
