Your chance to proactively improve upon our development processes and conventions

As a Software Engineer in our Merchant Team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional partners on all aspects of product development. In doing so, you will be working closely with design partners to implement specifications such as responsive components and web pages. Along with this, your primary responsibility will be to support your team and help them with code review, testing, and development.

As a part of our Merchant Team, you will experience that your coworkers highly welcome self-initiative and encourage you to speak your mind. In addition, we expect that, as a part of our work ethic, you design solutions with non-functional requirements in mind, such as security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability.

Your key responsibilities across these areas of focus will include to:

  • Build towards the business and engineering objectives
  • Help build the foundation for cross-team collaboration
  • Achieve specific team goals by working together in a cross-department collaboration, as working as a team is a crucial part of our success
  • Put your ideas into practice on a global scale
  • Develop and design RESTful services on top of our core API to be consumed by your frontend components
  • Implement and maintain backend services, such as APIs and Daemons

Just as importantly, you enjoy giving presentations and explaining things. In doing so, you are easily able to communicate complex matters in layman’s terms. Moreover, you are eager to bring people around to your point of view while challenging other people’s ideas to initiate constructive discussions.

You are conscientious about meeting deadlines and believe you rarely leave things unfinished. Being attentive to detail, you work very thoroughly and with a high ambition to achieve successful results while ensuring that things are done properly. In doing so, you convey confidence and show composure that makes you readily adapt to resolving conflicts.

  • 3+ years of industry experience
  • Degree in Computer Science or similar, otherwise 5-6 years of experience required
  • Strong experience with backend and/or fullstack technologies such as Golang, Ruby, React
  • Solid understanding of engineering best practices, continuous integration, and incremental delivery
  • Always develop with a test-first approach, relying on TDD and covering most with unit and integration tests
