Reykjavik-born HorseDay has collected $700K in a funding round led by New Business Venture Fund (Nýsköpunarsjóður) with the participation of investors including angels. The startup helps trainers of Icelandic horses track training session, plan training ahead, register shoeing, register medical activity or note down whatever is relevant for caretaking of horses. HorseDay intends to use the funding to improve the app and welcome more people to its team.

HorseDay was founded in 2020 by Marta Rut Ólafsdóttir, Oddur Ólafsson, and Ólafur H. Einarsson to offer a digital training dairy to equestrians. It is the first equestrian app that is specifically tailored to the Icelandic horse and its community.

Every day, in the process of training and taking care of the horse, a lot of data is collected that shows information about the horse’s progress, exercise, training, care and health. That’s wh that it is of high importance to collect, own and track all of this information correctly in order to gain insight into the status of the horse’s training, care and health.

HorseDay, Oddur Ólafsson“The addition of New Business Venture Fund and other investors to the shareholder group is extremely important at this point in time. We are proud of the success we have achieved so far and are excited to be able to put even more effort into product development and the expansion of HorseDay in the coming months. HorseDay is already used in many parts of the world, with approximately 800 people using our app each week.” says Oddur Ólafsson, the founder and CEO of HorseDay.
