Estonia’s Ignium wraps 1 mln financing round

Ignium, which is building a digital capital market for small and medium-sized companies, has reached its financing target and wrapping its two-platform campaign at around 1 million euros in the coming days.

“Although the public raise was made to respond to the request of users, we were still positively surprised to see such an interest,” Ignium founder Reimo Hammerberg told ArcticStartup in an interview.

Two primary marketing platforms – Ignium and Fundwise – collaborated, building the same book. “Usually platforms act on a self-standing basis and do not share clients,” he said.

He said the two-week campaign brought in some angel investors, as well as some clients of Ignium, invested also in the platform. “Now we have to focus on delivery and keep eyes on the ball.”

Ignium’s mission is to create an affordable blockchain-powered capital market for private small and medium-sized companies. “Small and medium-sized companies and their investors have been treated as second class citizens for too long,” Hammerberg said.
