Danish SaaS startup is acquired by a global provider of products in the areas of heat transfer

Lyngby-based bunker procurement optimization software BunkerMetric has been acquired by StormGeo, an Alfa Laval company that is a Swedish leader in heat transfer, centrifugal separation, and fluid handling, and is active in the areas of Energy, Marine, and Food & Water, offering its expertise, products, and service to a wide range of industries in some 100 countries. BunkerMetric is a Scandinavian software company bringing the power of advanced digital technologies to the marine bunkering segment. The acquisition will be beneficial for Alfa Laval to help its customers outperform their operations in voyage routing and operational decision making, They are planning to close this acquisition before the last quarter of the year.

Alfa Laval to acquire BunkerMetric

Alfa Laval has signed an agreement to acquire BunkerMetric, a Scandinavian software company that develops advanced decision support tools for marine bunker vessels. The acquisition is part of Alfa Laval’s strategy to expand its digital marine service offering and will be part of the recently acquired StormGeo, a global leader in weather intelligence software and decision support services. Closing of the acquisition is expected during Q3, 2022.

BunkerMetric, headquartered in Denmark, supports ship operators in finding the best bunker procurement plan and improving voyage margins by using sophisticated algorithms. The optimization tools, together with StormGeo’s advanced route services, will enable ship owners to streamline operations to help them improve their bottom line. BunkerMetric’s procurement optimization tool will become a subscription service within StormGeo’s existing offering.
