Stockholm-based Ankra, a cloud infrastructure automation platform, recently closed €1.1 million in pre-seed funding, led by UK-based B2B investor SuperSeed, in addition to the backing of notable angel investors. The cloud infrastructure automation platform simplifies the setup and maintenance of cloud infrastructure, enabling developers to rapidly deploy applications with a focus on code and innovation. The funds will primarily support product development, allowing for the refinement and expansion of Ankra’s features and capabilities. Additionally, they intend to onboard new clients, expand their presence in the UK market, invest in research and development, and bolster marketing and sales efforts to drive awareness and adoption of their innovative solution.

With the co-founders’ experience spanning prestigious projects such as Ericsson’s 5G endeavors, Saab’s military-grade infrastructure, and Google’s business scaling, Ankra, a cloud infrastructure automation platform, offers a solution that simplifies and automates the intricate processes involved in cloud infrastructure setup and management. This platform is designed to expedite application deployment, particularly relevant in sectors with stringent compliance requirements such as fintech and banking.

Ankra allows developers to efficiently provision production-grade Kubernetes clusters and provides a centralized interface for streamlined application lifecycle management. The recent €1.1 million pre-seed funding will facilitate further product development and expansion into the UK market, where Ankra aims to enhance developer productivity by up to 30%, thus promoting efficiency and innovation in software development.

“Today, 30% of a fintech developer’s time gets bogged down in configuring and maintaining cloud infrastructure. This stalls companies and delays their applications from hitting the market. Ankra simplifies this, streamlining operations with a self-service approach that allows developers to set up production-ready Kubernetes clusters in just minutes. Leveraging automation, we’ve allowed developers to experience a 30% performance boost in productivity. Ultimately, we want to relieve them from the burden of infrastructure maintenance, and refocus them on what they do best: software innovation,” commented Mattias Karlsson Åsell, CEO of Ankra.

“The team at Ankra is focused on delivering what matters for customers that are deploying complex infrastructure – real productivity enhancement and cost savings. For banks and fintechs, Ankra offers excellent ROI. We look forward to supporting the founders in launching into the UK market and getting commercial traction with London’s world-leading fintech companies,” said Mads Jensen, Managing Partner at SuperSeed.
