Tech Conferences To Attend In The Nordics In 2018

I love talking to Investors, Journalists and Entrepreneurs outside the Nordics about what is happening in the startup scene over here, but even more so I think it’s super awesome when these people come over to visit and experience it for themselves. An event or conference is a great occasion for inviting people over. So in order to make it easier for you all to know when the best time to visit is, I would like to share my favourite ten Nordic conferences taking place in 2018.

Technoport

February 28th, Technoport -focusing on Deep tech for the 2018 edition, Technoport is an interdisciplinary meeting-place that brings the whole innovation ecosystem together to ensure those critical, groundbreaking technological advances happen and reach the market. Join the best and brightest in academia, business and industry and make the change happen. 1000+ attendees, Cross-disciplinary. Organised by Technoport. Takes place in Trondheim, Norway.

Katapult

May 14th-16th, Katapult Future Fest – three-day festival focusing on the combination of exponential technologies, impact investing, new forms of collaboration and the future society. Takes place in Oslo, Norway.

Latitude59

May 24th-25th, Latitude 59 – flagship startup & tech event of the world’s first digital society. The conference has grown into the most important startup and venture capital gathering of the Baltic region with world-class speakers & inspiring discussions. +1500 attendees. Cross-disciplinary. Takes place in Tallinn, Estonia.

Arctic15

May 30th-31st, Arctic15 -focuses on making deals and quality networking. There are 15 Tracks from Health and Fintech to AI and Talent. Industry players can use the time efficiently and gather under one roof. The core of it all is one-on-one meetings in Deal Room with pre-screened contacts. Networking is optimised to the absolute maximum with Pre-Event Matchmaking, Ad-Hoc Meetings, Networking Areas, Side Events, Workshops and Roundtables. Cross-disciplinary. Organised by Arctic Startup. Nordic Next

June TBA, Nordic Next -24 hours with some of the greatest minds in technology and investors from the Nordics and beyond, 50–100 attendees, Investor Summit. Organised by The Nordic Web and Invest in Skåne. Takes place in Malmö, Sweden. Nordics leading Investor summit. Symposium

June 6th-16th, Symposium -created in 2015 by Spotify’s Founder Daniel Ek and Ash Pournouri, Founder of At Night Management, Symposium Stockholm provides a week-long festival for creative individuals with powerful ideas to come together and experience a creative home, at the intersection of tech and music. Takes place in Stockholm, Sweden.

Startup Reykjavik

August TBA, Startup Reykjavik Investor Day -ten participating teams will present their business opportunities to investors and guests. Organised by Icelandic Startups. Takes place in Reykjavik, Iceland. Invitation Only, contact Icelandic Startups if you are an investor interested in attending.

Tech BBQ

September TBA, Tech Festival & TechBBQ – September means two visit-able tech events in CPH. Tech Festival is a week-long festival where humans and technology meet. It’s also the umbrella for 130+ tech events happening in the city. A non-profit initiative exploring a new, progressive agenda on technology. The largest conference taking place during the week is Tech BBQ, which is the largest startup and innovation summit in Denmark and Greater Copenhagen, with 1700+ attendees. Here you can listen to 30+ inspirational speakers from all over the world. Cross-disciplinary. Takes place in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Fika Pitches

September TBA, Fika Pitches -a demo day for investors, international and Swedish, with high-quality pitches from some of Sweden’s top Startups. Of course a classic Swedish fika, with kaffe and bulle, is also served — apart from investable startups. Organised by SUP46 & Nordic Makers. Takes place in Stockholm, Sweden. Invitation Only. Slush

December 4th-5th, SLUSH -brings together the leading actors of the global tech scene to Helsinki for something very special. Described by many as “Burning Man meets TED”, the event has grown in just a few short years to 17,500 attendees and 1 million live stream viewers. Cross-disciplinary. Organised by SLUSH. Takes place in Helsinki, Finland.

Europe’s leading startup event. If you can only fit one Nordic conference in your calendar for 2018, SLUSH is the place to be.
