March 21 @ 8:30 am - March 22 @ 5:00 pm
In a world of rapid technological advancement and consumer changes, our role is to anticipate disruption, create opportunities and produce maximum value. NextM is a forum to inspire, ignite conversation and deliver exposure to new concepts and original thinking.
The NextM seminar brings together exciting international speakers and influencers in marketing, media, data and tech innovation. This is the second time the event is coming to Finland.
One of the biggest highlights this year is the President of the Mars One Foundation, Bas Lansdorp from the Netherlands. His foundation aims to land the first humans on Mars in 2032, expected to never return to earth. Mars One has a renowned advisory board including a former NASA Chief Technologist, an astronaut, and a physics Nobel prize laureate, and since the launch of the foundation in 2011, US$ 1 million has been raised. From the first selection round, up to 24 astronaut candidates will soon start their training.
Another keynote will be delivered by an inspirational TED Talk speaker and PhD in Physics from Cambridge University, Dr. Kate Stone. Dr Kate Stone founded the award-winning lab Novalia to explore the space where traditional print & conventional electronics converge. Dr. Kate wants to infuse our current analog world with electronics so that everything looks like it always has, except that it can come alive through interaction.
Sophie Hackford from Wired will give an overview of the explosive technologies that are shaping the future consumer. From encoding movies in DNA to pixellating the planet, from virtual universes to prosthetic intelligence, Sophie will explore how our relationship with the ‘machines’ is becoming weirder and more complex. Sophie will ask big questions about overcoming the ethical, trust and bias issues in our black-box society, so we can make the most of these extraordinary breakthroughs.
The event also includes many other top experts in the field, read more about them here: nextm.io/finland
