WOT provides a safe-surfing solution that provides traffic light signals next to links to show how other web users have rated their trustworthiness. Users rate approximately 300 000 websites every week and the add-on gives average 2.5 million warnings of untrustworthy sites every day.
We covered WOT very recently – the service has been invited to Facebook’s AV Marketplace where Facebook users can find services to protect their computer.
WOT CEO Markus Suomi filled us in with more details about the partnership, saying, “Given Facebook’s massive user base and growing interest on the AV marketplace we believe this to fuel accelerating growth of WOT community. This deal also re-confirms trust that Facebook has on our solution being able to detect online threats that the traditional AV solution cannot.”
