The biggest startup and gamedev center in the Baltics will launch in the beginning of 2016 next to the historic old town of Vilnius. Vilnius Tech Park will fill 8,000 sq.m. meters with startup offices, co-working spaces, cafeterias, hostel and recreational areas.

From the first announcement, Vilnius Tech Park has received significant support from the local startup community and Vilnius municipality. The park is planned to be finished by the first quarter of 2016, but the first tenants, who already reserved their office spaces, will move in  January, including Vilnius’ largest startups like Vinted, Game Insight, and the Startup Highway accelerator. All major venture capital funds in Lithuania including- IMI.VC, Practica Capital, BaltCap, and Nextury Ventures say they will be moving to the tech park along with some of their portfolio companies. Institutions working with initiatives promoting entrepreneurship in Lithuania are also planning to move in together such as- Invest Lithuania, Enterprise Lithuania, Smart Vilnius. According to the presenter, more than 100 startup companies are already in queue to rent office space in Vilniu Tech Park, and a number of them is still growing.

The biggest startup coworking center in Lithuania called “TEO Hub” with more than 100 modern workplaces, is planned in cooperation with the largest telecommunications company in Lithuania TEO, a part of TeliaSonera Group. Vilnius has long needed a concentration point for the startup ecosystem, as startups and other stakeholders have been scattered all across the 401 km² of the city.
