Taxify Opens Service In Belgrade

Estonia’s Taxify has opened its service in Belgrade, claiming to be the first mobile taxi app on the fixed price market in the Serbian capital.

“Belgrade is the next important capital for us after we opened in Prague. As Taxify is the first mobile app on the Belgrad taxi market we see a good opportunity for the fast growth there,” Martin Villig, Taxify’s co-founder and head of development, said in a statement.

However, at least taxi.eu app says it has a service in Belgrade.

Taxify is a taxi ordering app for iOS, Android and web browser that connects users with taxi companies or drivers. We have been watching Taxify quite closely from their 2013 launch as mTakso, followed by hockeystick growth stats in 2014 February all the way to their seed round in April, local taxiEs monopoly resistance in Finland and eventual launch during Slush 2014 outperforming Uber in Helsinki. Taxify raised 1.4 million euros in December 2014.
