Smart home startup Comfee raises €125 000

Estonian smart home startup Comfee finishes a seed funding round receiving investments from Estonia, India and UK. The company aiming to revolutionize window blind automation heads next to their main target market, United States.

Estonian Buildit hardware accelerator alumni Comfee announces closing a €80 000 seed round. The investors participating on the round included CrossBorderAngels, Dewang Neralla, three members of Estonian Business Angel Network and Buildit with a follow-up investment.

Next the company aims on its target market US, where the company has already agreed on additional funding of $50 000 (roughly €45 000). With the initial investment from Buildit, Comfee’s total funding will be in August $150 000 (approximately €136 000).

“Right now we are preparing iteration for mass production, as well as new designs for the series, are heading up to the US to be closer to our target market and grow the company for the Series A,” says the Co-founder of Comfee, Ksenia Vinogradova – And adds that they might be taking 1-2 additional notes from angel investors before the Series A.

Though the main interest for the solar powered device turning any shades into motorized window shades comes from the US, Comfee has also received inquiries from European blinds manufacturers and smart home platforms.

“Now we have around 80 potential distributors in the list. Some of them have already ordered samples,” says Vinogradova.

At the moment, Comfee is making their first factory run and also concentrating on developing their product further, describes Vinogradova:

“We also have new versions in the pipeline which need to be tested and prepared for manufacturing. Lots of work is awaiting us on integrations side to make Comfee speak with other smart home devices.”
