For those of you outside of Finland, IRC Galeria is up there as one of the most influential online services in Finland, finding massive engagement in the early 2000’s. It was founded as a solution to the problems of the IRC days – you’re chatting with all these people, but what do they look like? Through IRC Galeria you could throw some selfies online before they were called selfies, and the service is still going strong today.
