*ship – The Startup Festival is the biggest startup-event in the Southeast Finland. This year *ship going to be truly global by bringing together entrepreneurs, mentors, accelerators, investors and volunteers worldwide. *ship creates an atmosphere, where everyone can share, develop and network with like-minded people.
This year 100 startups and 25 mentors will be joining *ship and taking part in the Mentoring Program. Startups get to compete for the 5000€ main prize on the Pitch Captain Competition. *ship and the selected partners will launch their Online Challenges at the event. Everyone can tackle the hackathon styled challenges and compete for various prizes.
*ship thrives to develop the entrepreneurship culture and give the startups the best chances to work on their idea. *ship brings the new startups together with experienced mentors and investors around the world.
On the last day of the event doors are open for public and everyone who wants to participate to the event can join. *ship wants to support companionship and sharing of ideas, so everyone has a chance to network, learn and talk about entrepreneurship.
*ship 2017 will be held on July 11-13th at Kotka, Finland, during the Maritime Festival and Tall Ship Races. *ship is organized annually by PatteriES, a student-run organisation of South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences. The event is backed by Google, City of Kotka, Cursor, KarhuVoima and South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences.
