Quanturi is a Finnish company offering a solution for farmers to protect their farm from a fire. Farm fires are a worldwide threat. It is estimated that more than 10,000 farm fires are recorded every year, and every fourth of them originate from spontaneous combustion of hay.
This seemingly natural phenomenon can cause farmers severe financial loss. Quanturi’s founder – Nadine Pesonen, who spent her childhood playing with cows and piling up stacks of hay in a small French village knows about the problem as well as any farmer.
With sensors placed inside haystacks, the software will monitor the temperature conditions of hay in real-time data. If there are signs of a potential accident, Quanturi will give an early warning, helping farmers avoid risks of business disruptions and life-threatening accidents. Apart from that, users also get indicators of fodder quality throughout the storage time.
There is no beta release yet, but Quanturi monitoring system has “passed” its field trial test with pilot farms in France and Finland.
