OP launches Health challenge

The largest bank and insurance provider in Finland, grants up to 5 health and wellness startups up to 50,000 euros each to pilot new health services within its Smart Health Challenge.

Yes, you heard right, the largest bank and insurance company in Finland, OP, will welcome and work hand in hand with the most innovative international healthtech startups as part of their Smart Health Challenge starting on the 8th of May in Helsinki, Finland. This unique business cooperation program aims to co-develop and launch innovative health services together with OP Insurance and Hospitals in Finland, nationwide.

A total of 10 startups in health & wellness will be selected to join a 4-day bootcamp in Helsinki, after which up to 5 of them will be granted up to 50 000€ to build pilots for the Finnish market and get an opportunity to seal a long term business partnership with the bank and insurance provider. The final group of startups get to fine tune their product or service and access a large customer base (either consumer or businesses), while benefiting from the marketing power of OP group. The OP Smart Health challenge includes plenty of coaching and a deep co-development phase, a very tied, business focused cooperation for which OP will assign its best resource to help.

The Smart Health Challenge has a total duration of four months, running from May until September, 2017. During this time the final group of startups will work closely with OP’s Insurance and Hospital branch and senior coaches. Startups will work remotely but physical presence is required during the challenge week and 3 shorter bootcamps.

In order to make this happen, OP is working with Vertical accelerator, the leading European health startup accelerator, to identify startup companies from all over the world and bring them to Helsinki.

Startups can send their applications until 5th of April and the 10 selected teams will be announced by 17th of April. Read more and apply to the challenge
