Sydsvenskan reports that startup Newshubby, started recently by Alexandra Bylund, former co-founder at Foap, announced that they have landed a first investment. The investment is an early investment from the London-based business angel Russell Glenister, who previously has invested in amongst other Tweetdeck. Russell Glenister is investing € 33 000 in Newshubby.
Newshubby is a service developing a digital newsroom for new entrepreneurs.
“Its not big money, but it’s important for a small startup like ours and it will help us to reach out to the market and get the next investment.” says Alexandra Bylund to Sydsvenskan.
FORMER FOAPER STARTING NEW STARTUP
A few years ago she founded the internationally acclaimed app startup Foap with David Los. However, at the end of last year she left Foap and started shortly thereafter Newshubby.
Newshubby is about producing a digital newsroom and a service that enables semi-automatic generation of press releases. Initially, the company focuses on technology-oriented startups, and even before the product is finished, they have received a number of customers.
“Newshubby is about making pressreleases better and more efficient. But we will also make sure all startups that want to can afford the service – I have a warm heart for the startup scene.”
“We focus on getting an early prototype out by september, and then to build on that depending on costumer feedback.”
FUTURE INVESTMENTS AND FINANCING
Alexandra also aims to build on the investment from Russell Glenister with a innovation loan from Almi.
“We aim to get € 55 000 from Almi, which would finance us thru this year. At the end of the year we will then raise a more substantial round.”
