Lithuanian Soundest has a big first year

Lithuanian Soundest reached several milestones in its first year of operations. For one, its Shopify extension made it to the top 5 in marketing category and #1 in email marketing. The Lithuanian startup surpassed Latvian Mailigen and even the email marketing veteran MailChimp. On Tictail, Soundest is in the top 5 free apps and #1 free email marketing app. This is great for a startup in its first year of operations.

Soundest is founded by digital marketing expert and serial entrepreneur Rytis Lauris and Zygimantas Stauga whom the team describes as a real geek and who is a large scale back-end developer, certified Mongo DB and Zend engineer. Soundest went out of private beta in Februry 2014 and has just celebrated their first year with some great achievements:

Right now Soundest employs 8 people in Vilnius and London, serves more than 5000 customers in 155 countries on all five continents. It is funded by € 84,000 angel investment, and the company’s growth has largely been through integration with most popular e-commerce platforms.

“Our seamless email marketing solution concentrates on small and medium e-commerce sites that are built on the most popular  e-commerce platforms, such as Shopify, Magento or PrestaShop.” Soundest co-founder Rytis Lauris explains. “We have achieved impressive growth in our first year largely thanks to integration with these platforms and maintaining stellar customer feedback. Besides, our focus on online stores is a strong competitive advantage, as Soundest lets to increase sales in a much easier way than other email marketing service providers can offer”.

Main competitors of soundest are generic email marketing solutions, such as MailChimp or Constant Contact. Soundest aims to differentiate from them by exclusively focusing on online stores to obtain a strong advantage over generic tools on leading e-commerce platforms. Additionally, Soundest has built in several email marketing automation features to minimize the need for third-party integrations.

“With Soundest there is no need to code, design or build anything,” lead developer Zygimantas Stauga explains. “Soundest works out of the box, seamlessly integrates with online store and syncs the data. It lets you segment customers and subscribers according to their buying behavior and reaction to newsletters in order send different messages relevant to these automated segments. Creating newsletters is up to 10 times faster with In-Store Email Builder – the unique feature, which allows you add products to newsletter while browsing the store. You just select items and Soundest adds them to the newsletter – with pictures, descriptions and prices. Soundest also sends Cart Recovery, Welcome, Birthday emails, as well as resends newsletters to non-openers. These features are dedicated for increasing sales and only minimum actions of user is required.”

After a successful first year, Soundest has new plans in store. It has already opened an office in the UK, Europe’s biggest e-commerce market. Now they are building a smart behavior-based newsletter subscribe form. More automated features are on its way, targeting both subscribers’ behavior and sales function to provide extra sales driver for Soundest clients.
