Home delivery from Norway's largest grocery store

Oda is a company on the move. We built Norway’s leading online grocery store and now we want to share what we’ve created with the world! Delivering a huge range of high-quality, affordable groceries and fresh produce to millions of doorsteps is a complex process, but we believe we’ve cracked the code. Using data-driven methodology, with a focus on sustainability all the way along the chain, we are building the most efficient retail system in the world. With solid backing from some of the biggest international investors in the world, we’re proud to be one of the fastest growing companies in Europe.

As a Technical Program Manager, you will work closely across all of our areas and teams to ensure we’re successful in the bigger and more complex cross-team and cross-platform efforts. To scale fast and stay ahead of the competition. You will do that while making sure we have a solid technical strategy as a foundation. You will help define and establish parts of our strategy, and you will work within existing strategies in our strive to delight customers and build a world-class logistics system.

A few recent projects you would be involved in as a TPM include coordinating the complex transition of business-critical core shop platform to our new cloud platform, establishing robust and standardized messaging across all our platforms, and designing and implementing a scalable rollout strategy for deploying our proprietary logistics systems to multiple fulfillment centers.

What you’ll do:

    • Be part of a newly established Technical Program Management discipline and team
    • Help identify, define, and drive larger objectives that span multiple autonomous areas and teams by involving the right people and making good tradeoffs.
    • Based on your collaboration with others, set and communicate priorities and balance business needs with the right technical constraints.
    • Lead the delivery of large, complex and multi-disciplinary technical projects by anticipating and proactively removing bottlenecks and eliminating obstacles and roadblocks that are not under autonomous control by any single team
    • Be a champion and driver of world-class teamwork, collaboration, communication and alignment across multiple disparate areas and teams with differing priorities
    • Make sure our technical strategy and vision is sharp, up-to-date, a solid foundation for everything we do, and at the same time provides a good balance alignment, autonomy, and the ability to maintain a fast pace of change
    • Facilitate and drive complex problem solving, architectural discussions and decisions with technical staff and stakeholders
    • Ensure decisions are made in a way that is transparent and inclusive. Getting input from all relevant parties and working with their input.
    • Be a champion of how large and complex efforts are initiated, led and driven to a successful conclusion and change rollout that fits well with our culture and current priorities.
    • Ensure that we invest in building the tooling and foundations we need for excellence in development, testing, deployment, QA, security and productivity across multiple engineering teams and disciplines
    • Work with engineers to ensure we have the right amount and level of best practices and documentation in place

To be successful, we believe:

    • You have a computer science and software engineering background, or similar experience giving you a thorough understanding of software development lifecycle from conception to delivery
    • You have first hand experience from running products in production at scale with a modern DevOps approach and productised internal teams.
    • You have strong written and verbal communication skills enabling you to communicate complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences easily
    • You have held strategic coordinating roles where you’ve proven your ability to drive for results through influence and relationship building in a matrix organisation setup
    • You’re comfortable discussing deep and complex technical issues with our most senior technical staff
    • You thrive in the complexities of scaling technology, and the challenges and opportunities of rapid growth

We offer:

    • Something new: A huge set of complex and exciting Product & Tech challenges and hands-on experience with our logistic operation and customer experience.
    • A great team: A down to earth environment with sky-high ambitions. Enthusiastic and ambitious colleagues who care about collaboration. A transparent workplace where tools like Quip and Slack help us stay in the loop – with fewer emails and meetings
    • Make your mark: Freedom to shape our path as we advance (we align via OKRs, like Google, Twitter, and Uber). An opportunity to build a thriving tech company culture from the ground up. Also, tailor-made personal development in a people-obsessed company
    • Make an impact: You will quickly get responsibility for the execution and rollout of projects that are very important for the company
