We are now looking for a Micropackaging technician to strengthen our Fabrication team, which is responsible for our Quantum Computer Processor fabrication and delivery. Your main responsibility is to assist in the packaging and delivery of our superconducting quantum processing units. You will be working in the state-of-the-art industrial research facility dedicated to superconducting quantum processing units. You will be responsible for the hands-on assembly, maintenance, cleaning, and packaging of fine-mechanical parts for our quantum computers. Furthermore, you will be working on the wire bonding of our quantum processors. The necessary training will be provided to operate our automated wire bonding equipment.

What will I be doing?

  • Micromechanical assembly and maintenance of the mechanical, electrical, and cryogenic parts of a quantum computer.
  • Preparation of quantum processor’s sample holders prior to packaging, including chemical cleaning.
  • Following and developing detailed standard operating procedures and health and safety procedures.
  • Operation of automatic wire bonding machines for the purpose of device packaging.
  • Communication of technical issues with engineers within the team and across different teams.

What skills do I need?

  • Education and/or working experience in the field of micromechanics, fine mechanics, or equivalent field.
  • Ability to operate a microscope and handle tweezers. Sensitivity to details and precision work is highly appreciated.
  • Experience with wire bonding is preferred.
  • Basic CAD/CAM skills are considered as an advantage.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse cross-disciplinary team environment.
