“The German market is almost 20 times larger than the Finnish market and now we can go there with the best possible partner,” Spinfy CEO Petri Karjalainen said in a statement.

Oetinger, which made the investment through its unit Tiger Media International, is the largest German publisher focused on children books.

“Having met Spingy leaders several times during 2015 it became clear out strategic visions are similar. As we have complementary skills, co-operation seemed an obvious solution,” said Oetinger CEO Till Weitendorf.

Spinfy is known in Finland for its Moomin tablet and it has made several games and interactive e-books for children.
