Frontiers Health 2020 is putting Helsinki on the global digital health map

Frontiers health conference, happening on November 12-13 th, is bringing its exclusive content and global networking opportunities also to Helsinki this year, among other locations.

In a few days Frontiers Health 2020 – the global hybrid digital health conference- will bring together the best expertise in digital health and gather the brightest healthcare innovators from all over the world. The hybrid format of 2020 edition is unique: it combines virtual and physical, it unites global and local and accommodates a comprehensive agenda with 60+ sessions by almost 200 speakers.

In addition, the conference that was previously hosted in Berlin, is now expanding much further and adding Helsinki to the list of the digital health hubs. Due to the vast network of trusted partners, Frontiers managed to bring together several local digital health communities represented by the hubs in Lausanne (Switzerland) hosted by the main partner Debiopharm, Berlin (Germany), Helsinki (Finland), Barcelona (Spain) and Valletta (Malta). More virtual sessions are streamed from the USA and Asia.
And, the central node of Frontiers is the Healthware Life Hub in Salerno, Italy, where the Chairman of the Conference and CEO of Healthware Group, Roberto Ascione, will be leading the conference program from.

Helsinki Local Hub
Each hub brings its own thematic focus and expertise on the table. Helsinki event goes ahead with the Finland’s strong position in healthcare-related innovation together with Finnish achievements in COVID prevention.

The event at Helsinki Local Hub of Frontiers (hosted by Make Helsinki with partner support of Orion Corporation) will take place on the 12 th of November from 6:30 to 8:30 pm and will consist of 2 panel discussions.

1) How Different Stakeholders of the Digital Health Ecosystem Can Collaborate Together for Better Results 

This panel unites such representatives of the digital health ecosystem as big pharma (Orion Corporation), investment organization (the European Investment Bank), healthcare provider (Terveystalo) and two digital health startups (Disior and Etsimo). The discussion will be focused on the latest trends in healthcare innovation in Finland versus the rest of Europe and on the ways to boost the cooperation of healthcare system actors in a more efficient way.
A special guest from the European Investment Bank (EIB), is Marcin Golec, Senior Health Sector Specialist joining remotely from the central office in Luxembourg. Marcin will provide the European perspective on the digital health landscape and reveal more investment opportunities in the area.
Local speakers include Sammeli Liikkanen, Digital Medicine Director at Orion Corporation (moderating the session), Karita Reijonsaari, Business Development Director at Terveystalo, Thomas Grandell, CEO at Etsimo and Anna-Maria Henell, CEO at Disior.

2) COVID Prevention and Risk Assesment: Current Solutions and Perspectives

This panel is moderated by Paolo Borella, Co-Founder at Vertical.vc and unites local researchers working on coronavirus vaccines (Vincenzo Cerullo, Professor from Helsinki University and Pasi Kemppainen, Co-Founder, Member of the Company Board at Rokote Laboratories) and a startup implementing corona preventative screening solution – Nightingale Health represented by
Founder & CEO Teemu Suna.
Finland has been quite successful in managing the pandemic – however, not much media attention is directed towards the Finnish scientific efforts in COVID prevention and detection.
