Friday Rundown

The sun is out in Helsinki, so I’m about to take off and store up some Vitamin D. But first, here’s some more news from the region, as well as jobs and events to check out. The top story is that Testdroid launched commercially at Google IO in the Developer Sandbox. It’s a pretty cool service to test your Android apps fairly instantly across the major Android phones and tablets. Check out Testdroid here, or see our past coverage.

    News:
Ants has released a pretty solid new update to their ride sharing app.  They now support route subscriptions, push notifications, rides nearby, and instant text messaging. Check it out here.

TheNextWeb covered the Startup Wise Guys teams pitching in London.

Rdio has launched in Finland and Sweden, Spotify’s home turf. Will they be able to compete?

    Events:
July 9th is the Ruby Brigade Helsinki

August 17th is the StartSmart! SummerCamp4Startups! in Estonia.

    Lab of Apps tells us:

We are organising #TruHelsinki event for recruitment professionals in Helsinki 4/5th September and day before that event we are organising a showcase events for HR Tech Startups to present their service to the Top Tier HR influencers and get constructive feedback during that evening even

We take only 6 companies to that event so there is really a chance to share ideas and get feedback. We have now 4 so 2 slots are still free for some interesting startups.

Tyba is looking for a Web Developer in Madrid
