French After-Tinder Love App Climbing Charts

French startup Happy Couple, which spent last fall at Vertical health accelerator in Espoo, rose last weekend to the number one spot on French health and fitness chart for iPhone, shows data from App Annie research firm.

The couples therapy app, kind of Tinder for couples, has reached top 100 ranking on health chart in 27 countries, but it has so far lacked success on general app charts.

The app asks both people questions – testing how well people know their partners.

Behind the app is Julien’s love story with Erin. Julien is a serial entrepreneur, Erin was a bored designer at Google when they met in San Francisco. They met on Tinder and moved in together one month later.

At this point the couple dived into the idea of making an app for couples – a couples therapy game that would inspire couples in all types of relationships. When Julien’s visa ran out the couple moved to Berlin. And then Julien spent 4 months in at the Vertical Accelerator program in Helsinki, while Erin stayed working in Berlin. They have clearly needed the app themselves

Now the team is working on expanding the Happy Couples universe around the globe.
