Fortumo Brings Direct Carrier Billing In US To European Developers

Fortumo seems to expand day in and day out. It was only last week when we shared news on Fortumo all set to integrate Bad Piggy Bank with Angry Birds to help Angry bird users make purchases or pay for updates via their mobile carriers. Earlier this week it had more news to share and this time it was Fortumo’s partnership with BilltoMobile.

This partnership will help bring direct billing via mobile operators in the US to game developers in the European region. This would help developers earn more compared to the other payment methods, primarily the premium SMS. The advantage is that of having lower transaction fees, ensuring that developers pocket more revenue and also bringing better security. The reason to opt for this is that of mobile operators that support direct billing reach almost 70% of all mobile users in the US region and Fortumo already has a staggering dominance, with its mobile payments covering over 95% of all mobile users in the region.

Fortumo offers more than just giving game developers in the US to leverage direct billing. Developers also get to have Fortumo take care of the technicalities associated to integrating the same as well of reducing the hassle by handling operator approvals.
