Fonecta Acquires Ideakone

Fonecta has acquired Ideakone, a Finnish company with the product, Kotisivukone or “Website Builder”. The acquisition should fit nicely in Fonecta’s portfolio, which contains a range of B2B and B2B digital services. Ideakone was founded in 2005 and has grown to a workforce of 21. In 2012 and their turnover was €2.5 million. The financial details of the acquisition were not announced.

“We are thrilled of the acquisition, as Fonecta has exactly the same vision of the website market as we do. There is virtually no overlapping with Fonecta’s current businesses, and Kotisivukone will expand Fonecta’s product portfolio to DIY websites in the best possible way,” CTO Antti Ala-Ilkka tells us.

Ideakone will operate independently and the Ideakone staff will continue to work on Kotisivukone after the acquisition. In addition, Mikko Nurminen will stay as the CEO. CTO Antti Ala-Ilkka tells us he’s going to help out the product development, “…while starting to shift my focus to our new startup, which will stay under the radar for a while though.”
