Shares, dividends or clean rivers? What are you looking for when investing in a crowdfunding platform?
Finland-based startup RiverRecycle has launched a crowdfunding campaign on FundYou platform where the top reward of 20,000 euros offers to clean 150 tonnes of plastic from the most polluted rivers in the world over one month period.
RiverRecycle’s technical solution collects the floating plastic from river systems, but also provided a value creation model that can support local livelihoods and economic development. It believes this will prohibit more waste from pouring into the oceans.
The plastic waste is collected and processed into reusable elements by the locals, such as fuel or other end-products. We are convinced that only a holistic approach can solve the problem for good. The plastic pollution problem requires a sustainable model that directs developing economies into a new way of processing waste, said CEO Anssi Mikola.
