Game developers from Russia, Belarus and Ukraine will meet Finnish gaming industry at Finnish Game Day in St. Petersburg on June 27.
“For companies seeking to internationalise, Finland is an important stepping stone to get started,” Oleg Paliy, the event organiser, said in a statement. “Finnish gaming expertise is an attractive asset for companies seeking long-term success in the industry.”
Finland’s vibrant games ecosystem, where 2,700 people generated 2.4 billion euros turnover last year, is lead by companies like Supercell and Rovio. The industry attracted 1.3 billion euros in foreign investments in 2013–2015.
“Today, Finland is a creative hub for leading game developers, with a robust game cluster and vibrant gaming community,” Paliy said.
During the event, representatives from some of Finland’s most successful studios will share their knowledge and experiences on topics ranging from practical advice about how to get established in Finland as a foreign company, to raising capital and the benefits of being a part of the Finnish gaming ecosystem.
The Finnish Game Day will take place on June 27 from 2 p.m. onwards in the General Consulate of Finland (Preobrazhenskaya Square 4). It is held in cooperation with White Nights Conference St. Petersburg, the international cross-platform game development and marketing conference that takes place on June 28-29.
