Finnish eSports firm Critical Force raises $10 million

Kajaani-based gaming studio Critical Force has raised $10 million from an undisclosed investor, local newspaper Kainuun Sanomat reported.

Critical Force is known for its Critical Ops game, which has bee downloaded more than 90 million times since its 2016 launch.

In 2016 Critical Force raised 4 million euros from NHN Entertainment Korea which makes it one of the biggest seed rounds for a Finnish gaming company.

Critical Force is a North Finland-headquartered game developer founded in 2012.

It reached the first millions of downloads through organic growth which makes the game developer stand out from the market leaders: as a startup, they cherish community-driven game development and engagement.

The players are involved from the very early stage of the game and become part of the community already before the tournaments. eSports gamers live their hobby and by actively engaging with the game development they identify with the community.
