A SUCCESSFUL ECOSYSTEM FOR GREEN HYDROGEN
– PIECING TOGETHER THE HYDROGEN ECOSYSTEM PUZZLE –
A H2 View event dissecting the ecosystem requirements to truly realise a green hydrogen-fuelled future across industrials, transport and society. This event will tackle all sides of the energy ecosystem, from wind and solar power requirements through to additionality, water sustainability, electrolyser technologies and the investment and policy climate.
It’s becoming clear that the entire ecosystem for green hydrogen requires alignment. Hydrogen’s potential, performance and safety are proven. Green hydrogen is widely accepted as a core pathway to Net Zero. Yet the key levers in this transition are not yet in-sync.
The technology is ready yet requires scaling. Infrastructure build-out is in desperate need of the appropriate policy and permitting frameworks that will also finally unlock the bottleneck of investments still to pass FID status. Additionality in renewables is critical, raising questions over sufficient wind and solar power capacities.
Is wind power currently going to waste with constrained payment programmes?
Is the required solar power capacity available?
And what can we learn from both of these markets and how they were realised with policy and investment at the turn of the century?
Other questions continue to surface, from water resource and security to the role of CCUS and blue hydrogen.
If much of the discussion in 2022 concerned blue versus green hydrogen, current and future cost projections, and the need to fast-track the energy transition in the face of geopolitical crises, then the emphasis now has to be on a joined-up ecosystem, accelerating in unison and realising its leveraged and latent potential.
Join H2 View in Iceland for a 2.5 day event devoted to thought leadership, insights and actionable takeaways in the green hydrogen ecosystem, combined with the connections and networking to deliver against those objectives.
