European SME Week Youth: Call for Essays

Are you between 16 and 25 and have passion for entrepreneurship? The European Commission launched a new edition of the #SMEWeekYouth essay competition for young Europeans. Anyone between 16 and 25 can submit an essay of no more than 2500 words in English before 8 September 2017. The three finalists will win an all expenses paid trip to the SME Assembly in Tallinn, Estonia where they will present their essays to 500+ Assembly delegates.

There are no pre-set topics for the essays, however the goal of the essays competition is to explore ideas related to entrepreneurship and policy making. So if you have an opinion on how European policy can help shape the future; or on what government, academic institutions and businesses can do to ensure that young people can acquire the skills they need for tomorrow’s world of work, this competition might be a good place to express your thoughts. Why? Because you will get a chance to share your ideas with policymakers and entrepreneurs on a European stage at the 2017 SME Assembly in Tallinn.

The winner will be determined via a public voting. In case of winning, European Commission will get all your expenses in relation to the trip covered. There is no monetary prize for the competition but you will get a chance to meet European policy makers at the 2017 SME Assembly, which is a great opportunity for networking. Plus, winners will receive a pitch training before presenting the essays to EC delegates and get some publicity on SME Week social media channels.

You can find more information on the flyer below. Otherwise, submit your essays before 8 September 2017.
