EU launches June health recovery hackathon

The European Commission has opened applications for the new pan-European hackathon to solve the most pressing smart health challenges proposed by the European industry

The event, which will take place from 18-20 June is organised by the European Commission in partnership with Garage48 and Civitta, two experienced start-up partner companies from Estonia.  The event will take place in hybrid form in Brussels and online.

“The Hackathon is a great way to find innovative and practical solutions to address the COVID crisis that could support the social and economic recovery,” said Maive Rute, the Deputy Director-General of the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs of the European Commission.

The organisers hope that the hackathon with an emphasis on smart health solutions can help European companies and organisations reshape their business models, products and processes and, at the same time, also create new business opportunities.
