Claned Awarded as the Best Learning Analytics Solution

“Enjoyment appears at the boundary between boredom and anxiety when the challenges are just balanced with the person’s capacity to act,” says Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, one of the prominent positive psychologist of our age. It has been always a big challenge for educators to create a learning experience that puts learner into a flow state, complete absorption in the present moment.

An edtech startup from Finland called Claned is focusing on exactly the same challenge on an individual level by combining Finnish pedagogical research and artificial intelligence. “We believe the real difference we make is to provide a truly personalized learning experience that optimizes the process, motivates the learner and encourages for lifelong learning” Mervi Palander, CEO of Claned, describes their vision. The company has introduced its learning environment solution in the summer of 2016 after 3 years of research and development.

Apparently, their efforts keep paying back. Lately, the company has been awarded as the best learning analytics/data mining app in The TechEdvocate Awards. In addition to that, Claned was the finalist in “the best global edtech company” and “the best personalized/adaptive learning app” categories as well.

In 2016, the company tapped into Australian market to deploy its digital learning platform to nearly 100,000 users. Currently, the company is growing also in the US, India, Mexico, Singapore markets. The education market is estimated at $5 trillion globally, and it is forecasted that edtech investment alone will reach $252 billion by the year 2020. It seems like Claned is very determined to get its share from the global edtech market. And that is not surprising at all since the company solution is used by the Olympic Committees, The Economic Information Office as well as professional NHL players and schools across Finland.
