AudioDraft has released another model for companies and organizations to purchase original, licensed music, while also rebranding its service. Until now, AudioDraft featured only a crowdsourced contest model where someone could describe the sound they were looking for so musicians and sound designers could compete and enter submissions for a prize pool of money.

In addition to that model, today AudioDraft is releasing an online store for exclusive audio tracks. What sets the store apart from iTunes or some stock music supplier is that each track is sold only once, so if you purchase the music you won’t come across it in other projects — making it perfect for audio branding, advertisements, and games.

“The logic is to make things more simple for everyone,” says Arto Tolonen, co-founder of AudioDraft. “The customers can always know beforehand what their music budget will be and the designers can more easily understand the payment amounts they are expecting from the service.”

Tolonon assures me that this isn’t a step away from AudioDraft’s crowdsourcing model. The platform and contests are still staying center stage, but the marketplace is geared towards users who need unique audio immediately. When creating a contest, the contest-holder can decide whether they want exclusive rights or not, which affects the contest prize.

The crowdsourced contest platform has recently seen success with designing the next Nokia regional ringtones, and creating music for startup intro videos and other projects. In other news with the company, co-founder Tommi Koskinen’s band, Phantom, described as Finland’s “startup band” recently got picked up around the web.
