Ten top-notch Nordic startups will spend 4 months going through the agrifood acceleration program at FAN Nordic Hub led by VTT in Helsinki, together with Valio and Helsinki University on board. The idea of the program is to combine deep research expertise with extensive sales and product development workshops. The program will be organized mostly online, however, we expect to rock with an offline demo-day on October 6th in Helsinki (save the date!).

Helsinki Hub provides access to the global network being one of six agrifood accelerators of European EIT Food Accelerator Network (FAN). Other hubs locations include Munich, Haifa, Lausanne, Cambridge and Bilbao.

Startup Program and Mentors

First, the most interesting part: we don’t take equity and offer the program for free. Second, the content of the program is tailored to the needs of the selected startups. We organized matchmaking between startups and mentors so that each startup team is assigned their own mentor for the whole period of the program.

The content of the acceleration program covers not only the aspects of food and agritech product development. We also pencilled-in sessions on sales including “How to Sell to Corporates” by the Dutch go-to-market expert Marc Wullings. The startups will get insights on communications and PR: “How to talk to Media” by Tarmo Virki, Co-Founder Magazine founder and Reuters Contributor. And don’t forget about pitching skills: we planned pitching and storytelling master classes by Elsa Ervasti, presentation coach and book author).

In addition, the startups are going to enjoy Deceleration Session that will be dedicated to networking and focus on cognitive performance. Hence, we are expecting a very productive summer for our teams.
