Tallinn-based startup 99math collects $2.1 million in a round led by Play Ventures with the participation of international venture cpital firm Flyer One Ventures and Baltic-based early stage VC fund Change Ventures. The startup develops a multiplayer math game for kids to learn through it and challenge themselves with competing via global online tournaments. The edtech gaming platform will be able to improve the features, come up with the new ones and expand more in the US and beyond thanks to the recent funding.
99math is a social math game that kids can play remotely through a game code. It improves kids’ math fluency significantly but also gets them excited about math. It can get challenging to keep kids motivated when they are out of school. 99math enables them feel connected to their classmates whilst they practice their math skills. However, it is also a social practice platform for 1st-8th grade teachers to accelerate results and save lesson time.
