$13.4 million seed round for Swedish blockchain platform

Stockholm-based blockchain development platform Moralis has secured an impressive $13.4 million seed funding round from EQT Ventures. The startup’s mission is helping developers build and scale decentralised apps (dApps) without the traditionally high cost or complexity. The funding is set to be used to continue product development, as well as hiring key employees.

Founded in 2020 and launched in June earlier this year, the firm is headed by CEO Ivan Liljeqvist  and COO Filip Martinsson. Both founders are highly experienced with blockchain world, notably with Liljeqvist running a Youtube channel with 450,000+ subscribers, Ivan on Tech. Through the Ivan on Tech Blockchain Academy he duo has trained over 30,000 students

In an effort to encourage more developers to dive deep into the developing world of the blockchain and dApps, Moralis is aiming to reduce a lot of obstacles that developers face; user authentication, node management, real-time notifications, data indexing, and data aggregation. Moralis is on a mission to become the bridge between Web2 and Web3. In doing so, developers will be allow to build scalable dApps within days, instead of months typically.

“We are overwhelmed by the positive feedback and excitement from the blockchain community; building dApps should be as easy as building websites and that’s the big vision of Moralis,” commented Liljeqvist. “We’ve already seen massive, sustained adoption in our first few months, amassing over 30,000 developers since launch — and the growth shows no sign of slowing. This immense interest further validates Moralis’ business proposition, showcasing how we solve the pain points with existing blockchain development.”
