Workaway Camp heads to sunny Spain

    Last year in Barcelona
There seems to be something in the air in Denmark that is driving some entrepreneurs out of their homes and offices to seek company and companionship from likeminded souls. In the past we’ve covered Project Getaway from Danish entrepreneur Michael Bodekaer and now we’ve learnt of a similar plan called Workaway Camp and there’s another Dane behind it, one Nikolaj Astrup Madsen, a self described entrepreneur and online marketing geek. Let’s look at the details.

The Workaway Camp will be a remote cabin in Spain surrounded by a lot of natural beauty. There’s a swimming pool, chefs on site, large lounge areas to relax in and of course the scenery should you decide to go for a walk or take a mountain bike out for a ride. All that sounds great but not very ‘work’ like, so to balance that we’re assured there is wifi available throughout the house and a large work area to get stuck into whatever project might be being worked on.

While helping give space and time for people to work on their projects is an obvious primary goal of the camp, there are others. One is to help entrepreneurs develop their international connections and relationships by bringing together a group of twenty to spend a week together building those all important networks. Another is that in meeting all these other creative people conversations will be had which will spark new ideas, new solutions and accelerate the growth of each individual’s project.

The camp has been held three times in the past for Danish entrepreneurs and they’ve had excellent feedback so now they want to open that experience up to the world. There certainly seems to be demand as they say that the previous trip all sold out within days of registration opening.

So if you would like a week working holiday in sunny Spain between 5-12th September then head on over to the Workaway Camp website where you can sign up to be notified when booking opens. Right now there is also a competition to win a free place happening on Facebook, follow this link to try and get that spot. Otherwise you’ll be paying 700€ for your place on the Camp plus the cost of your own flights to Barcelona airport. Still totally work it for what could be a great holiday, a great inspirational time, and a great social mixer.
