Super hydrophobic coatings coming to Nordic and Baltic mayo bottles

What a time to be alive.

    The future is now.

This isn’t a local startup, but we’ll be eating the fruits of their labor. MIT spinoff Liquiglide announced yesterday that they will be in an exclusive partnership with Norwegian food and consumer goods brand Orkla, which distributes goods all across the Nordics and Baltics.

What this means to you is that your mayonnaise bottles will have that space-age coating that stays permanently wet, allowing the good stuff to slide out easily without a shake-weight workout. The customized coating for Orkla’s mayonnaise products is made entirely from natural ingredients, which will hopefully let us feel better about completely rewriting the rules of how mayo is supposed to work.

Dave Smith, LiquiGlide CEO and Co-Founder says, We chose to work with Orkla because they are an innovative and leading consumer goods company in the Nordics and the Baltics. Our exclusive agreement affirms that LiquiGlide’s coatings create substantial value for consumers by enabling them to get every last drop.”

“At LiquiGlide, we’re changing the way liquids move.”
