Smart Blinds Maker Becomes FlipFlic, Launches Kickstarter Campaign

Wouldn’t it be nice if you would not need to get up to adjust the blinds?

Smart blinds maker FlipFlic promises to solve it with the Kickstarter campaign it launched on Tuesday.

FlipFlic, which was founded as Comfee in Estonia, aims to raise $50,000 pre-selling its solar-powered gadget which turns horizontal or vertical blinds into a self-adjusting, light, time, and temperature-responsive blinds. FlipFlic – which is plugged into the place if manual blind turning sticks – has a timer, light and temperature sensors, and it also connects to the app on your phone.

Prices for full packs start from $75 for early buyers.

The company raised a seed round in summer 2015 from investors including CrossBorderAngels, Dewang Neralla, three Estonian business angels and also early investor, Tartu-based hardware accelerator Buildit, made a follow-up investment.

Since then the team relocated the company and business to the US and went through three-month programme of Highway1 accelerator in San Francisco.
