Artists, designers, developers and other creative individuals who are looking to sell their digital product online often lack the time and resources to set up an online store. Latvian startup Sellfy plans to make the selling process as painless as possible with its streamlined “drop & sell” application.

Selling through Sellfy is a simple three-step process:

  1. Upload product file
  2. Enter payment details
  3. Get “Buy Now” button

Products are uploaded to Sellfy’s secure cloud drive and delivered to clients once a purchase has been made. The payment process has been outsourced to PayPal so sellers are required to have a PayPal Business account in order to do business through Sellfy. Purchases are made through a “Buy Now” button/link, which can be easily added to an existing website.

Additional features include a sales tracker and a system for allocating discounts. The app can also be integrated with social media to provide special discounts for clients who recommend your product in Twitter or Facebook.

Sellfy is currently in closed beta (invitation only) but the startup plans to open up the service to everyone in the near future. Current pricing options include ‘free’ (one product, unlimited bandwidth, 25MB of storage) and ‘$9’ (10 products, unlimited bandwidth and 100MB of storage per product).

We’ll keep you posted on Sellfy’s progress.
