PitchHelsinki: Apply Today And Get Funded Right At The Event

Editor’s Note: Full disclosure, ArcticStartup has a working relationship with PitchHelsinki, is a media partner and works closely with YritysHelsinki and YritysHelsinki NewCo Factory.

One thing about Pitching Events is trying to see the value. Some provide great practice and feedback by good investors, others have a prize pool, some help you get into accelerator programs and yet others help you spread the word about your start-up.

This year though, there is going to be an event in Helsinki which is aiming to help you raise money right there and then.

PitchHelsinki, an event organized by YritysHelsinki and the City of Helsinki is going to feature Live Crowdfunding, where everyone present will have an opportunity to invest into the pitching companies. Since it will be live-streamed, literally everyone will have a chance to invest into your company while you pitch.

This is a rather new concept and we are looking forward to seeing it in action. There will be 10 companies selected to pitch to an invite-only crowd, which will hopefully include a large amount investors in order to help the companies get some money right at the event.

Naturally, the traditional networking and investing will also be taking place, so you will be able to get in touch with angels and VC’s at the event in order to set-up meetings in the future and manage your funding round.

To participate, all you need to do is apply at the events website by the 1st of October (Yes, that is tomorrow) and then go through the selection process. Oh and if live crowdfunding is not reason enough, you might also consider the fact that there will also be a cash prize for the winning startup and a lot of interesting people at the event. The prize pool will be built until the day of the event so there will be a lot things up for grabs by the time you will be pitching.

The speakers for this years PitchHelsinki are yet to be announced, but last year it included the likes of: Mika Mäkeläinen & Paul Bragiel. We are definitely excited and are looking forward to seeing you there.
