Close to 400 startup enthusiasts from all over the region came together in Helsinki to witness 15 stellar pitches from companies on stage at Arctic15 yesterday. The day was all about winning and despite the hard choice of the jury to pick one winner – all the companies already won, by getting tons of coverage and visibility on stage for their products and services. In addition to this, Amazon Web Services decided to give a substantial amount of credit to all the 15 finalists (we’ll contact you directly regarding the details on this).
Nevertheless, a winner had to be chosen. After rigorous debate and discussions between the jury members, Mancx (Sweden), came out on top to take home 10 000 euros and the title as the most potential startup as the Arctic15 Winner. Congratulations to Mancx, it was an awesome presentation! Henrik Dillman, one of the founders of the company announced on stage that the prize money will be turned into a “beer fund” and everyone visiting them will get free beers. Mancx may have to watch out for a rush of people in the coming weeks!
Also, another prize was given by the public vote. All the attendees voted through the mobile app to pick their choice of the best startup. Graduateland from Denmark received the most votes and will receive 5000 euros worth of advertising on ArcticStartup to promote the product.
We’ll be covering more of Arctic15 in the coming days (and weeks as we get the videos up), but all in all it was one great event! Once again – congrats to Mancx and Graduateland for winning and for all the other startups for participating. We’d also like to thank all the sponsors (the platinum and gold sponsors listed below) for making the event possible at such a reasonable price for everyone.
On behalf of ArcticStartup, thank you all who came yesterday and made the event such a fantastic one. And those who didn’t make it – not to worry, join us in a bigger and better Arctic15 in 2012!
Our event could not be made possible without the help of our sponsors. Read more about our sponsors on the Arctic15 website and what they have to offer. We truly value your participation – thank you very, very much!
